REDF Impact Investing Fund December 2021 Newsletter

New Investments Fuel RIIF’s Work:

REDF Impact Investing Fund (RIIF) recently received two exciting investments. RIIF was selected as part of the University of California San Francisco’s Community Investment pilot, receiving $1M to invest in Bay Area businesses that employ and equip people overcoming barriers to work. The fund was also awarded a $1M loan from CommonSpirit Health’s Community Investment Program. The Community Investment Program helps address social determinants of health by issuing loans that support affordable housing, health clinics and social services, arts and education, the environment, small business and microlending, and other community service organizations.

Location: Seattle, WA
Investment: $200K line of credit
Industry: Construction, Manufacturing & Retail Staffing
Impact: Employ and train 800 people who were formerly incarcerated

Investment: $500k line of credit
Industry: Maintenance Services
Impact: Employ 800 individuals who have experienced homelessness or incarceration

Industry: Healthcare Staffing
Impact: Hire approx 50 people during one year loan term, including survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking
