This spring, we’re celebrating an exciting update from REDF Impact Investing Fund (RIIF)!
Kitchens for Good (KFG), a longtime REDF and RIIF partner, is the first borrower under RIIF’s new Growth & Mobility Fund. This fund is designed to reward and accelerate employment social enterprises that are not only expanding jobs but improving them.
Since 2014, this San Diego-based powerhouse has tackled food insecurity at its roots — rescuing food that would otherwise go to waste and turning it into opportunity. Their secret ingredient? A commitment to creating quality jobs for people too often left out of the job market, including justice-impacted individuals, opportunity youth, and refugees. Through KFG’s programming, folks are equipped with culinary skills, job training, and a pathway to stability.
A new $1 million line of credit from RIIF will help KFG continue to grow, bridging the gap between grant expenses and reimbursements, and supporting a major new contract with San Diego County.
