Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency

Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency (BOSS) employs people experiencing homelessness as temporary workers in its Clean City Program to provide street cleaning through a contract with the City of Berkeley Public Works Department. The program provides training, hands-on work experience, and income to workers while helping them seek permanent jobs elsewhere. To help BOSS launch a light construction business that would employ more of their constituents, REDF provided financial consulting services, assistance, and organizational capacity building.
