Landforce is a REDF Accelerator alum and nonprofit based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, that provides environmental stewardship services, such as tree planting and care, habitat restoration, trail maintenance, and vacant lot enhancements to organizations, municipalities, and developers in the greater Pittsburgh area.

Landforce crew members receive temporary, supported employment, designed for people transitioning home from prison, dealing with substance use challenges, or facing the impacts of trauma and mental health. Working with its nonprofit partners, Landforce provides both hard and soft skill development, and offers job placement assistance for full-time, permanent roles.

A $628k bridge loan from RIIF will allow Landforce to fund expenses for its environmental stewardship training program while awaiting proceeds from its reimbursable grants. Through this financing, Landforce will be better able to expand its program, including adding an additional annual training cohort focused on urban wood reuse.
