As a member of the Capacity Building team, Walter Chacón supports the design and implementation of the CA RISE program. As a part of this work, Walter helps identify the needs of ESEs within the CA RISE program and design technical assistance to promote sustainability in their businesses.
Prior to joining REDF, Walter worked for five years as a consultant to large, urban school districts where he provided technical assistance to help district leaders allocate resources more equitably across institutions.
Walter believes in the power and dignity of work. He hopes that by building ESE sustainability, REDF can foster stronger communities and families across the country.
Walter holds a B.A. in sociology and education with a minor in economics from Bowdoin College. Outside of work, you can find him outside playing disc golf or inside watching HBO with his dog, Lacey.
