Ryan Baker

Manager, Capacity Building

As a member of the Capacity Building Team, Ryan manages and conducts technical assistance for REDF’s network of employment social enterprise partners to help strengthen their business and programs. His work focuses on support for REDF’s Growth Portfolio grantees as well as other REDF programs, including technical assistance for employment social enterprises receiving funding through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Ryan returns to REDF after his time as a Farber Fellow in 2020, where he partnered with Goodwill Silicon Valley to support business operations and sales strategies. He believes strongly in the power of social enterprise and pathways to quality jobs to transform lives and communities.

Previously, Ryan worked at Deloitte Consulting, where his client-facing work focused primarily on program and organizational strategy, operations, and growth planning across public and nonprofits sectors. Ryan also served in a number of internal roles, building Deloitte’s global public sector practice as well as the US firm’s Purpose and DEI Office, with a focus on bringing non-traditional talent to Deloitte and building expertise in workforce development strategies. He was also active in Deloitte’s skills-based volunteering programs to serve local nonprofits with pro bono consulting services.

Ryan holds an MBA from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business and a B.S. in industrial and systems engineering from Virginia Tech. Outside of work, he enjoys being outdoors, seeing live music, playing soccer, and most of all, spending time with his wife, two daughters, and their dog.
