Jamie joins REDF after six years as founding executive director of Farming Hope, a culinary job training and food justice social enterprise. He brings experience leading a nonprofit and organizing regional coalitions to support social enterprises through the new CA RISE program at REDF.
Jamie grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and has the season tickets to prove it. With a B.A. in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an M.A. in data journalism from Stanford University, Jamie is passionate about listening to and sharing peoples’ stories from all walks of life. He lived in El Salvador for two years, volunteering with the Salvadoran Lutheran Church, and is energized by helping people join in and build beloved community. He is particularly passionate about environmental justice, and the unique opportunity we are presented with to come together and build solidarity in the face of climate change.
Jamie lives in Oakland, California. In his spare time, he loves to surf, swim, camp, and eat (not necessarily in that order).
