As associate director for REDF’s Community, Jalpa Patel delivers customized guidance and resources to alumni of REDF programs across the country to help them continue to succeed. She also contributes to REDF’s work to create space and community for ESE entrepreneurs to learn from each other and experts in the field. Previously, Jalpa led REDF’s work to build and strengthen the Bay Area social enterprise community through convening leaders, leveraging public-private partnerships, and building capacity.
Before joining REDF, Jalpa spent four years at United Way in various roles, including as director of Rise Together, a partnership of over 250 Bay Area organizations working together to cut poverty in the region – an experience which is greatly informing her work at REDF.
Jalpa was born and raised in Leicester, England. She received her B.A. in sociology and politics at the University of Northampton and her M.A. in international relations at the University of Leicester, England. Prior to moving to San Francisco in 2012, she worked as a child protection coordinator for Leicestershire Police Department as a case manager for at-risk children. In her free time, Jalpa enjoys cooking and traveling.
