Gemma North, senior manager on the Learning & Evidence team, engages in evaluation of the employment social enterprise model, helps bolster REDF’s data management practices, and collaborates with programs teams to foster a culture of learning that informs our work. In this role, she is driven by supporting REDF’s commitment to implementing equitable evaluation practices and to addressing systemic inequities by investing in leaders that have experienced barriers to employment.
With over a decade of experience in evaluation, Gemma has devoted her career to supporting mission-driven organizations. Her work has taken her from a national CDFI, to a microfinance institution in Cambodia, to multiple LA-based nonprofits. In each role, Gemma has enjoyed partnering with colleagues to integrate data and evaluation into everyday practices to continually improve programming.
Gemma holds a B.A. in history from Colorado College and a M.A. in sustainable international development from Brandeis University’s Heller School for Social Policy and Management. When not steeped in her evaluation work, you can find Gemma traveling, exploring new restaurants, crafting, or gardening at her home in Colorado.
