As senior associate of Government Partnerships and Policy, Crystal supports the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Employment Social Enterprise (ESE) project as well as ESE connections with Local Workforce Development Boards (LWDBs). She provides technical assistance on program development, implementation, and improvement for WIOA ESEs to ensure they are successful in providing services to high-barrier individuals and meeting WIOA grant outcomes. Crystal also supports with data management and analysis for program evaluation, training materials and innovative process improvement, and providing compliance and policy recommendations. She is excited to contribute to REDF’s impact on businesses who provide equitable opportunities to all jobseekers.
Crystal has spent the last 15 years in workforce development as an advocate for programs that create opportunities and provide paths towards self-sufficiency. At the San Diego Workforce Partnership (San Diego LWDB), she led the development and oversight of programs serving young adults in San Diego County, which served over 1,000 young people with barriers to employment and invested over $3.3 million annually in those communities. She also focused on grant writing, policy development, and staff training.
Crystal holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from California State University, Fresno. Outside of work, she is also a USA Gymnastics coach, judge, and NCAA gymnastics official. When not at a gymnastics competition, you can find her enjoying time with her pets, travelling, and at a hockey game or concert.
