Firebrand Artisan Breads

Firebrand Artisan Breads is a mission-based, wood-fired bakery based in Oakland, operating a retail café and selling its hearth breads wholesale to grocery stores including Whole Foods and over 200 recurring clients. A $500k working capital loan from RIIF, which is part of a $9.5M transaction, will be used to expand Firebrand’s operations to a new 40,000 sq ft production facility in Alameda, CA. This new space will provide the required capacity to fuel Firebrand’s expansion and growth, in particular their packaged and sliced breads, and will allow for 7x increase in production. By the end of the loan term, Firebrand expects to have employed 150 people striving to overcome employment barriers.
