This September, REDF hosted our inaugural Green Jobs Gathering in Pittsburgh, PA!

The event was co-hosted by Pittsburgh-based ESE Landforce, an Accelerator alum and RIIF borrower. (And for lunch, we also swung by another local ESE, Community Kitchen Pittsburgh!)

This event brought together nearly two dozen leaders from 15 employment social enterprises (ESEs) across the U.S., as part of our Green Jobs Affinity Group — representing sectors from conservation to sustainable food systems.

At the heart of our gathering: learning from Landforce’s innovative conservation and wood reuse programs, tackling shared challenges in a changing climate, and exploring real pathways to collaborate, co-fundraise, and grow regional green economies. Throughout the day, we met with several of Landforce’s key staff and even saw a crew in action building a trail. 

REDF currently partners with 35+ environmental ESEs — from tree planting to electronics recycling to reuse and more. With this program, we deepen that network and strengthen the movement toward equitable, climate-resilient jobs for all.
