March Newsletter: A Letter of Support to Our Partners

A Letter of Support to Our Partners

At REDF, we are continually inspired by the dedication of our social enterprise partners and the people they serve, now more than ever. During this unprecedented time, we are focused on responding to the needs of the sector, advocating on their behalf, and ensuring we emerge from this crisis stronger than ever. Read the letter.

How You Can Help

As many of you stay home and stay safe, there are still ways to support social enterprises and other local businesses. Many social enterprises rely on retail sales to continue employing and supporting individuals overcoming barriers to employment – support them by shopping at home. Shop our Gift Guide.

The Importance of Community

In times of uncertainty, community is vital. We are incredibly inspired by our social enterprise partners across the country and are proud to be in community with them. Their work is going to be even more essential as we move out of the current crisis, providing work and a paycheck to thousands in immediate need.

We want to take the time to introduce and celebrate some new members of the REDF community.

REDF recently awarded one-year project grants to catalyze the growth and deepen the impact of 19 employment social enterprises across the country, from Hawaii to New York. And our Impact Investing Fund (RIIF) reached an important milestone, deploying over $1M in capital to seven borrowers around the country focused on providing jobs and support to individuals with barriers to employment.

Take Action

Consider a contribution to REDF, as we continue to support and strengthen the social enterprises in our network. The challenging economic times we will face in the aftermath of the coronavirus will severely impact employment social enterprises and the people they serve. It will take partnership at all levels to ensure the field can continue to provide vital services during this time and well after.
