Pogo Park

Pogo Park is based in one of the Bay Area’s toughest inner-city neighborhoods, Richmond’s Iron Triangle, and is working to transform little-used city parks into safe and vibrant places for children to play. They have a team of local residents who plan, design, build, and manage the parks themselves. Demand for their park development expertise is growing, and they are partnering with a renowned playground equipment designer to produce playgrounds and design more parks. REDF provided a planning grant to help build out a business plan for this new social enterprise.

REDF Impact Investing Fund (RIIF) provided a $1,000,000 bridge loan that is helping Pogo Park bridge a committed City of Richmond contract, so they can finish Harbour-8 Park, cover pending costs, and keep their workforce on the job — ensuring the park opens on schedule and Harbour Hall, a new Community Resilience Center, welcomes the community in early 2026.
