Memphis Urban Wood

Memphis Urban Wood (MUW) is creating pathways to quality employment for people experiencing steep barriers to employment, like returning home from incarceration or homelessness, while transforming discarded city trees into useful, climate-friendly products.

A new $225,000 bridge loan from the REDF Impact Investing Fund (RIIF) will enable MUW to purchase and install essential processing equipment by covering reimbursable expenses under a Tennessee Department of Agriculture cost-share grant. This investment allows MUW to move from pilot phase to scale to full production.
